A Quick Update :)

I'm a slack Blogger, but life has been busy!

The egg donation went a little... ummm... well, not quite how I imagined it would go! LOL!! With all the injections I had 9 follicles... 4 great big ones, 3 medium ones, and 2 small ones. My right ovary was being lazy and only produced 2, but my left ovary certainly made up for it.

The injections did awful things to me... I swung madly between wanting to cry, and wanting to commit murder. Murder I didn't do, cry I didn't stop doing! lol!

Anyway, d-day came (donation day ;)) and there were ONLY TWO EGGS! Can you believe it? Just two!! The rest of the follicles were a-cellular. I was floored! And felt really disappointed for the recipient. She'd gone through so much (emotionally and financially) for my eggs and I produced TWO! Then I was very grateful that I had had my children when I did and didn't wait until I was older (although I have less patience and (a little) more sense now so maybe I wouldn't have wanted to have any anyway!!).

HOWEVER!! I received good news the week following the donation. Both eggs had split to become viable embryos! One was excellent, the other was OK, so fingers crossed, she should just about know whether or not she's pregnant! I don't think I find out until there's a baby born... I'm not sure!

Speaking with the Nurse when they rang to tell me the result, she assured me that just because I only produced two eggs this time wouldn't mean that I wouldn't produce a greater quantity in the future. So, much to DH's chagrin, I'll probably go back for another go towards the middle of next year :)

Onto other things...

Brighton has almost finished his first year of school. His last day is tomorrow... followed by over 8 weeks of holidays. I'm freaked!! What on earth am I going to do with a 6 year old for 8 weeks straight!! Any ideas are most welcome... Hey, Aunty Lisa, maybe we can send him on holidays to you for a while?? That would be enough to put you off having kids for life!! Seriously though, he's like the little girl with the little curl in the middle of her forehead. When he's good, he's very, very good. When he's bad, he's horrid!! And so is Campbell! I've obviously gone very wrong somewhere... maybe I should just never have reproduced!! I do love them both very much... Honest I do!!

Ooooh!!! Some exciting news... At the grand "old" age of 30 years, 6 months and 10 days, my sister finally got her licence!! Yay Deb!!! I'm really proud of her. She got them on her first go, and is now proudly driving around the Northern Rivers of New South Wales in her brand new car (well, new to her!) with a beautiful set of "P" plates on!!

Well, this has turned out to be a "not so quick" update, after all! There's still much to tell but I need to go take a Nana nap ;) Besides, you're probably bored out of your brain by now, so I'll give you some relief too!!
