Two posts in one day!!

OK, but I'm excited!!

I had my appt with my Dr today to get his approval (or otherwise!) for me to go further with the egg donating. He went through quite a few issues with me and made me put the idea into a "job box" - which is bascially that I get a "report card" when my "job" (donating eggs successfully) is complete. I'm not to be emotionally connected with whether or not the donation becomes a viable pregnancy etc., my "job" is complete once I have successfully donated the eggs.

Obviously there's a whole heap more to it than that, but after discussing it at some length, including the possible and probable hormonal effect(s) on my existing condition, he is HAPPY FOR ME TO GO AHEAD!!!

WOO HOO!! So that's step 3 of about 50, but hey, a journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step! LOL!

I have to tell you though, I'm VERY relieved, and VERY excited! I e-mailed the fertility group as soon as I got home to let them know my forms are on their way in!!

I just so desperately want to help someone out there who can't have children to achieve their dream of holding a baby in their arms.

Thanks for reading!

They ate everything on their plate!

Yep, the 3 of them ate everything on their plate! Woo Hoo! If only it had been an exciting meal... but it's a start!! We had home made fried rice and DH and I had steak while the kids had fish fingers. Boring, but hey, at least they ate it! A win for me ;-)

I'm a little nervous today... I have my appointment with my Dr to see if he'll allow me to become an egg donor. I've been looking into this for over a year now, and finally have all the info, as well as having been in contact with Queensland Fertility Group for their requirements. I meet the basic requirements at this stage, but have to have a letter from my shrink to say he thinks I can handle a couple of rounds of IVF. Fingers crossed...

What else has been happening... Hmmm, well, went for another walk with Kylie on Monday night. It was mighty chilly, but so good to get out of the house and get some exercise. I'm so lazy, if Kylie didn't come knocking on the door, I know I wouldn't do it, but once I'm out there, walking, it feels great.

I won another Challenge on the she-essence site for my scrapbooking layout sketch! I'm so stoked! I'm enjoying the challenges... they make me think outside of the box ;-). It's not a scrapbooking site as such, although it does have a section for "crafties", it's a site for women, by women.

Here's what Lisa Harman had to say about Kylie Rayner's She-Essence Site...

What is She Essence? Well it is a fun, friendly interactive message board for women. A place to relax over a cuppa, make new friends and chat about all things girly. Membership is free and we encourage all members to join in and there is always something happening on the boards.

You will find a heap of sections that relate to women in every day life. We have discussion boards on Parenting, Relationships, Your Career, Health & Beauty, Your Spiritual Health, Cooking, Crafts, Review Lists and more.

We have some swaps and challenges, Bingo (and lots of other things). As well as all these areas we have a business area for those members that have their own business. You can take out a business membership on the forum and this allows you to advertse and promoting your business with in the community of She Essence.

I love visiting and spending my time there. Check it out if you haven't seen it... it's worth the trip, I promise!

I am sick to death of....

Cooking meals that nobody will eat. Or that one or two of them won't eat. For crying out loud, it's not a bloody restaurant. I'm sorry, but it's not. Eat it or starve.

DH is not setting a very good example to the boys either by not eating his meal. How can I expect them to finish (or even start for that matter Grrrrr) what's in front of them when he won't finish his meal either?

I'm so frustrated I could just scream!!! Aaaaarrrgggghhh!!!!

Sorry, vent over... for now ;-)

Will come back later tonight or maybe tomorrow with a little more of what's been going on ;-)

It's Saturday :-)

So off to work today (and yesterday too - and of course, tomorrow!). Even though I've only just started (Day 5 today), I'm actually really enjoying it. It's nice to interact with other adults for a change, and it's great to be earning a little bit of money. Not to mention that the work isn't half bad either ;-) I'm doing cellar door sales at a winery on Tamborine Mountain (Tamborine Estate Winery), and the girls there are great.

Kylie came over last night and we did some scrapping. I don't think I achieved much in the way of scrapping, but hey, I laughed so hard I cried and my ribs hurt, so that's got to make up for the lack of a completed project, hey?

Of course, I'm a bit tired tonight, so I'm calling it quits now before it gets worse ;-)

Thanks for reading.

Another Day....

Well, today was a bit unproductive ;-) So much to do, so little motivation!

DH and DS2 have been sick with 'flu and I feel a little bit like I'm headed that way myself, so not much to report here! (although I did manage to make the Apricot Balls from NicoleJ on the she-essence site - YUMMY!)

I also managed to keep my walking date with Kylie tonight - thanks mate! - and I do feel better for it! It's amazing what a little exercise (in the freezing night air!) can do for you ;-) A special thanks too for my little gift Kylie, how lucky am I??

Work tomorrow, only my fourth day on the job... hopefully I'll remember what I learnt last week!

Anyway, short and (not so) sweet tonight... kinda like me! Hahahahahaha!

Welcome to my Blog!

Well, here goes nothing I guess!

I'm new to the world of blogging... been reading others but too scared to start my own!

The aim of my blog is to just have somewhere to get all the thoughts out of my head and onto a page, and hopefully not bore you silly in the translation ;-)

I'm happily married to Simon (almost 10 years!) and mother of two gorgeous boys, Brighton and Campbell (5.5 and 1.75 respectively). I work part-time and am in the process of setting up my own business.

I'm a long-term sufferer of depression... something I deal with on a daily basis, but I'm getting there, one day at a time. Slow and steady wins the race... that's what they say, anyway!

I'll leave this short(ish) and look forward to sharing more about the day to day goings on of my life.

Thanks for reading ;-)
